This map displays the air quality reported by monitoring stations across Ohio. Stations monitor PM2.5, Ozone, or both. The air quality index is categorized using standards set by the U.S. EPA. Fossil fueled power plants are also show as they have an effect on air quality.
Clicking on an air quality station will zoom to that station and display information for that station. Air quality stations are symbolized by their reading status. See the legend for an explanation of the air quality status.
Clicking on a power plant will bring up information about that plant.
Air quality data is collected by monitors in the field and reported to the Ohio EPA.
Power plant station data is provided by the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
Basemaps are provided by Esri and hosted on ArcGIS online. Basemaps can be integrated into webmaps for free.
